For over 28 years the American Legacy brand has developed and marketedproducts that celebrate ​African American history and culture. From the magazine American Legacy, to its black history curriculum ​guide, board game and special events, the American Legacy brand has been a catalyst in preserving the ​African-American experience in America. Since February 2008, American Legacy and MRA have partnered ​on American Legacy’s “Know Your History” mobile truck exhibit that has visited school districts, colleges & ​universities, churches, African-American festivals and events across the country. In February 2018 American ​Legacy celebrated the 10th anniversary of its mobile truck exhibit with a special tour sponsored by Toyota ​and visited 10 American cities. The Divine Nine refers to a collective term used to describe the nine historically African American Greek- ​letter organizations that were founded between 1906 and 1963. These organizations played a significant ​role in shaping African American culture, promoting academic excellence, and fostering leadership, ​service, and brotherhood/sisterhood.

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. (1906):

•The first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity founded by African Americans. ​•Promotes leadership, scholarship, and advocacy for social justice.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. (1908):

•The first sorority founded by and for African American women.

Focused on community service, sisterhood, and empowering women.

Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. (1911):

•Emphasizes achievement, leadership, and community service.

•Known for its strong presence in the field of mentoring and guide young men.

•Promotes academic excellence, leadership, and community service. ​•Recognized for its commitment to uplifting African American men.


Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (1913):

•Emphasizes sisterhood, scholarship, and service.

•Known for its programs focused on education and community empowerment.


Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. (1963):

•Founded with a focus on leadership, scholarship, and citizenship.

•Committed to addressing social and political issues affecting African Americans.

TOUR THEME & FOCUS

TVONYX is developing a multi city eight week

mobile museum tour celebrating the accomplishments and legacies of ​the Founders of The Divine Nine. Developed from extensive archival ​collection, this mobile museum will feature images, video and audio ​recordings of historical events from ALL of the Illustrious organizations ​that make up the Divine Nine. Housed in a 48’ glass staged customized ​Single Trailer, the mobile museum will feature oral histories, rare ​photographs, documents, personal biographies, and artifacts that ​highlight the unique connection shared by ALL of the Divine Nine and ​their respective Founders, and will highlight and celebrate the role the ​organizations have played in uplifting African Americans and promoting ​unity, excellence, and service, while seeking "justice for all." The mobile ​museum is a great way to engage and inspire the entire community ​while highlighting the importance of the Divine Nine organizations and ​the great men and women who founded them.
